Selling is the backbone of all successful home businesses... and, you must have a good preselling proposition to sell effectively.

Webster's New World Dictionary & Thesaurus defines proposition as:

  5. Informal - a person, problem, undertaking, etc. being or to be dealt with
  6. Archaic - a setting forth; offering
  7. Logic - an informative statement whose truth or falsity can be evaluated by means of logic
  8. Math. - a theorem to be demonstrated or a problem to be solved

It defines presell as: to sell (something or the rights to something) before the thing exists in finished form.

Your proposition is the single concept around which you build your website. Visitors to your website are your potential customers.

Visitors to your website are not yet customers to purchase your products or service. They are only potential customers. It is a mistake to attempt a sale of products or a service before you earn the confidence and trust of your readers.

You must first carry out the task of providing information that will benefit them.

Your proposition is to provide information about a subject of interest that solves a problem satisfy a desire, or fulfill a need.

They found your content rich website because of your subject. Tell them how your information will help them. Then, fulfill your promise.

The Value Of A Great PREselling Proposition

Provide great website content and your readers will return often. In addition, your site will start to rank high with the search engines.

You will get increased clicks on SE ads and affiliate links, as well as increased revenues from other website ventures.

What the above means is that you are earning the confidence and trust of your readers. Your information is becoming more and more valuable to them, and the search engines.
