Search Engine Ads

There are many ways a website can generate revenue. Using search engine ads is one of the easiest methods to monetize a content-rich site.

The following is an example of a Google banner ad, without the links. Look at the lower right corner.

(Example of Search Engine Ad)

Publisher is the term used for those that allow search engines to place ads on their websites. Of course, advertiser is the term used for those who want to advertise on your site.

You earn income when visitors to your website click on search engine ads. Advertisers pay a charge to the search engine for each click, and you receive a share of those charges.

Search engine (SE) ads are different from affiliate ads. SE ads do not require a purchase after your visitor makes the click, in order for you to earn revenue.

Affiliate ads on the other hand require that visitors make a purchase in order for you to receive commissions.

By the way, the definition of monetize is "to coin into money".

Monetizing is one component of a process by which you convert visitors to your site into customers for the products and services your offer and/or promote.

It is important to keep in mind not to rush to monetize your site. Several other things must first occur, such as developing great content.

Using Search Engines (SEs) is the method by which tens of millions of people look for information on the internet.

Naturally, businesses and promoters use SEs to advertise their products and services to these tens of millions of internet searchers.

There are two major ways Search Engines display ads.

First, search engine ads are the "sponsored links" or "sponsored results" you see on the search results page. These ads are always on top of the listing of results, and often along the right side.

Second, search engines ads are those placed directly on website pages. An example is the ads you often see identified on websites as by Google, Amazon, Yahoo, and many other companies.

Search Engines make every attempt to deliver ads that are relevant to the content their searchers seek.

If you have, or you plan to build, a content-based website with focused content-rich pages, you will make money with search engine ads.

In addition to Search Engines, there are companies that have programs to deliver ads to your website. Often, these companies do not require that the ads match the content of the page.

Bidvertiser is an example of a company that serves ads to your website. You can also use Bidvertiser to deliver your ads to other websites.

Many website owners earn monthly five figure incomes only with search engine ads.

However, the average content-rich website builder should think in terms of monetizing his/her website using a variety of methods, especially if they do not own their own product or service. Affiliate marketing is something to investigate.

Currently, Google AdSense is the best way to monetize "theme-based content sites".

Once again, if you have a website, take no action to monetize it at this time.
