Website Keywords

Searchers look for information by typing website keywords into a search box. Therefore, it is a matter of success or failure that you build web pages around good keywords.

The effective use of keywords on your website and understanding why and how people use the internet go hand in hand.

People use the internet to find information to solve a problem, fulfill a need, satisfy a desire, or answer a question. They use search engines to identify web pages that have the information they seek. They find these web pages by typing a "keyword" into a search box.

Website keywords can be a single word or a group of words

For example, "tennis" is a one-word website keyword. Searchers looking for information about tennis will put that word in the search box. A searcher could also type into the search box Australian tennis or Australian open tennis.

Each of the above keywords would most likely return different results. In addition, each would most likely return results in different quantities.

Usually, the greater the number of individuals words within your keyword the fewer the results.

An understanding of website keywords is especially important for home based business websites. The proper use of keywords within a website will help drive traffic to that site, without paying money in the process.

Large companies have money, a large customer base, or both to generate huge amounts of traffic to their website.

However, for home business websites, it is important to get "free" advertising through favorable search engine ranking.

A favorable SE ranking is a web page listed in the top ten or twenty (no more than thirty) search results on a SRP. The higher the listing the more free traffic a website receives.

There are a number of ways to use keywords to "influence" search engines to increase the ranking of web pages on a SRP. Fortunately, there is a great website building tool to help with using keywords the right way.

A website keywords tool is great because it frees us to do our most important function. It is far better to create good content than it is to learn the techie stuff of building a website.
